Storm and Firework Fear in Dogs.

It’s that time of year again. For many dogs it is a scary time. The summer months bring thunderstorms and fireworks. There are genetic components of these fears, but they can also develop with exposure. Dogs can be truly terrified.

The good news is treatment is available. Don’t you agree that dogs deserve treatment for a better quality of life? In some cases, regular treatment beginning when the dog initially displays fear may help the pet overcome issues.

I love to be able to help fearful dogs feel better. There is no downside to treatment. A number of medications and supplements are available to appease anxiety. There is “no one size fits all” treatment for every canine, but with effort, my clients and I work together to discover what is best for their dog.

If your dog is afraid during this time of year, call Schuylkill Veterinary Hospital at 570-622-1098 for help.
